Call by Research Council of Finland to support international research projects utilizing EuroHPC/LUMI resources

Open call for Finnish researchers

The Research Council of Finland will open a call to support international cooperation in high-performance computing. This special funding is targeted at international research project consortia, combining researchers from Finland, and its strategic partnership countries and/or regions, namely Europe, the US, Japan or the UK. Specifically, researchers from Colorado, Texas or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are listed as potential partners to collaborate with in the United States.

The funding provides support for international cooperation in research where high-performance computing is to be utilized. In this call, computing access will be provided either to LUMI or other EuroHPC resources, depending on the composition of the consortia. LUMI capacity is earmarked for projects, based on research partnerships between Finland and Texas, Colorado, NASA, Japan and/or the UK.

This call aims to support the overall development of both skills and computing ecosystems at international and national levels as well as to advance the quality of research and diversity of science.

Application period: 3.4.2024 – 8.5.2024

Funding volume: up to 500 000 euros per individual project
