[Information] Resource cutter postponed by 1 month

Due to the system upgrade and the file system issues which followed the maintenance break, the resource cutter is postponed by 1 month today.
As gradually implemented in all the EuroHPC JU hosting entities in order to optimize the usage of their HPC resources, from the last 1st of October 2025, a resource cutter is put into effect on LUMI:
  • Start date: only new allocations from 1 October 2025
  • Type of projects: regular and extreme scale projects
  • Gradual implementation:
    • 1st notification after 3 months into the lifetime of the project if less than 20% of the resources were used;
    • Cut of 40% of the resources after 6 months into the lifetime of the project if less than 40% of the resources were used.
