LUMI: a highly capable platform supporting cutting-edge research and innovation

The latest Top500 ranking of the world’s fastest supercomputers was released at ISC High Performance 2026 in Hamburg.

EuroHPC’s LUMI supercomputer now ranks 11th globally on the Top500 list. While it has moved out of the top 10, LUMI remains a highly capable platform supporting cutting‑edge research and innovation across academia and industry.

– LUMI’s four-year presence in the top 10 of the Top500 list reflects not only outstanding technical performance, but sustained scientific impact. By supporting more than 4,600 projects across 40 OECD scientific subfields, it has become a cornerstone for multidisciplinary research and innovation. LUMI remains a powerful platform driving high-impact science and R&D, and continues doing so for a couple of years more, says Pekka Manninen, Director of Science and Technology at CSC – IT Center for Science.
