Finnish LUMI Extreme Scale Access call open

The first Finnish call for proposals for LUMI Extreme Scale Access projects has been extended and the call will close on 26 November 2021. This call is sharing resources from Finland’s country share of the LUMI resources.

Half of the LUMI resources belong to the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, and the other half of the resources belong to the participating countries i.e. the LUMI consortium countries. Each consortium country has a share of the resources based on the country’s contribution to the LUMI funding, and the countries will allocate these resources according to local considerations and policies.

This call for the Finland’s Extreme Scale Access projects is organized by CSC – IT Center for Science, and it is open for researchers in Finnish higher education and research institutions. The accepted projects should mostly use LUMI’s GPU partition (LUMI-G). The deadline for proposals has been extended. The new deadline is on 26 November 2021 at 16.00 EET (15.00 CET).

The proposals will go through technical and scientific evaluation. The evaluation will be done by the end of 2021, and the accepted Finnish Extreme Scale Access projects can start when LUMI-G becomes available after Q1/2022.
